Vampyr – Oh milady…

Soooo, I know have skipped a lot of stuff that I should be writing here, but let’s jump to the most recent one.

First, thanks to Lucas, former mate of my former metal band, as he said “Hey, I used to read your blog, but you don’t update it anymore…”. And here I am.

Well, about blood, old London, hospitals, more blood, lots of dialogs, a little more blood, and finally… A nice game.

Vampyr is a game that I played trying to find that epic experience I had while playing Vampire The Masquerade:Bloodlines many years ago (and recently too).

After a while I realize that the game is not that close to that game, buuuuuut, it has a similar approach. It has a different style of storytelling.

The combat is OK’ish – for me is hard to not compare combat with Batman Arkhan games and Middle Earth: Shadow games. The combat is somehow more like a time sink than a feature.

What comes really alive is the graphics and the environment. Very well crafted, very realistic (aside from humans, but still very good).

The voice acting is somewhat very compelling. Still, sometimes, the intonation and the reaction switch moods drastically within the same dialog with the same person, mostly because of the choices you can choose while interacting.

I’ve enjoyed the game, might one day in the future play again to have a different ending and/or choose different paths and combat style.
